The
NPort Server Pro family comprises high quality serial to Ethernet device
servers that enable RS232 devices to communicate across a TCP/IP network. This
mode of operation can save on additional wiring when a LAN, WAN, or even
Internet connectivity already exists to take your serial traffic.
In
host based mode, the RS232 ports of the NPort Server Pro simply appear as
com ports in the host PCs operating system. This allows the use of existing
software for all device server applications. Many alternative modes are
supported by the firmware, including UDP server/client, Ethernet modem and pair
connection. The NPort Server Pro is metal-cased to suit demanding industrial
applications.
