AMPLICON PC26AT ANALOG INPUT BOARD

   The analog Input Board, type PC26AT is a 16 channel, 12 bit A/D with an on board crystal controlled oscillator to run the triple 16 bit counter timer circuitry.

   The other major feature of the board is the DMA capability wich acquiring data on a single channel gives sample rates of up to 90 kHz in DOS.

Analog to digital conversation The A/D has a typical conversation time of 10 microseconds, 12 bit resolution and 1 16-way multiplexed input. DMA control is available on a single channel giving a throughput of up to 90 kHz. The conversation method used is successive approximation and incorporates a sample and hold to eliminate conversation errors. The output from the A/D can be set to binary, best for unipolar signals, or complementary binary can be selected for use with bipolar signals.

On board counter timer The 8253 compatible counter circuit provides three, 16 bit counters which can be used to generate accurate triggering of the A/D in DMA, or interrupt sampling models. Besides generating timing signals the counters can count external signals, mesure frequencies and generate time delays. 

DOS & Windows software PC26AT is supplied with DOS demo software consisting of a "menu" type environment giving access to all the functions of the board allowing many tasks to be carried out without programming. 

A library or routines are also supplied. These routines written in Quick BASIC, Microsoft C, Turbo Pascal and Turbo C include source code and are fully documented. The library includes comprehensive DMA support, eliminating the need to understand this activity in detail and many pre-defined routines covering all popular methods of data acquisition.

Windows users are supplied with a 16 bit DLL covering analog inputs and counter/timer operations which can be used by all 16 bit programming languages. Visual BASIC example programs are included which can be run as stand alone programs on your Windows desktop.
