Analog to digital conversation The A/D has a typical conversion time of 10 micro seconds. It has 12 bit resolution and a 16-way multiplexed input. DMA control is available on a single channel giving a throughput of up to 90 kHz.

The board is laid out with an area where input scaling resistors can be fitted to each channel individually and a special filter stage after the multiplexer can also be motified.

Digital to analog conversation There are 2 D/A converters have both 12 bit resolurion and conversation times of less than 1 microsecond. Either converter for fast continuous update, up to 100 kHz, and transparent operation to the PC's CPU.

Digital input/output ports The digital I/O consistsof 24 lines of TTL compatible CMOS. They are accessible as two 8 bit ports that can be configured as input or output, and two four bit ports which can also be input or output.

On board counter timer The 8253 counter circuit provides three 16 bit counters which can be linked to the on board crystal oscillators, other counters or extremal signals. The output from the counter circuit can be used to generate accurate triggering of the A/D or D/A in DMA mode, or to start an interrupt request during I/O controlled sampling.

In addition to generating timing signals the counters can count external signals, measure frequency, output accurate frequencies and generate time delays.

Software The demo software uses a library of routines that are also supplied. These routines written in Quick BASIC, Turbo Pascal, Turbo C and Microsoft C for DOS are supplied with source code.

16 bit Windows DLL Windows programmers are provided with a sample DLL covering analog input, analog output, digital I/O and counter/timer functions. Accessible from all 16 bit programming languages the DLL is supplied with Visual BASIC examples and a programmers manual on disc.

Manuals Manual and driver software are supplied on CD ROM.
